GRIM “7Sins” 7″ EP OUT NOW!

The new GRIM EP is out today! We are stoked to be involved with this release and working with our friends at Voodoo Village Recordings. This release is definitely something new for us. Like I’ve said before, there’s no reason to stay confined to a certain genre. While we mainly have released punk/hardcore music, you’ve got to shake it up every once in a while.

GRIM [Anthoney Carter // Micah McGee] is a post-trap, bass-heavy duo, formed to explore the concepts of mood, atmosphere, and aesthetic through live and electronic instrumentation. Their debut EP, 7Sins, is a five-song collection of all-original tracks that were created to individually portray a unique vibe and experience, all while constrained under a consistently slow, leaned-out tempo.

In addition to the five-song EP, we are releasing a 7″ with two songs that are alternate versions of songs from the EP. The tracks on the 7″ are exclusive to the vinyl and can’t be heard anywhere else. The records are limited to 300 copies on a mix of coke bottle clear, lavender, and clear gold vinyl.

Two New Releases!

We are damn excited to tell you about two new releases that we have coming out next week! The official release date for both THE ANGEL SLUTS “Singles Staring At The Steady” cassette and the LA ARMADA “Self-Titled” LP is next Tuesday, March 27. Both of the bands will be having record release parties tomorrow (Friday) in their respective cities. I’ll tell you more about those in a minute.

First up we have a 19 song singles compilation by THE ANGEL SLUTS called “Singles Staring At The Steady.” Harry came to me with the idea of releasing a cassette with all the material from the band’s 7″ records and I thought it was a great idea. Two of the singles are out of print with another close to it. So we compiled all of those songs and added a few unreleased tracks as well. If you’ve never heard the band this cassette is a great place to start. We’ll have the cassette available in our online store next week.

The band will celebrate the release of “Singles Staring At The Steady” this Friday night at the Hi-Tone in Memphis, TN. This will also be the release for their latest 7″ on Chickpea Records. The cover charge is only $5 and you get either a copy of the new cassette or 7″ with entry. You can’t beat a deal like that. Also playing are The Blackbelts and The Gloryholes with DJ Memphis Vic in between sets.

Next up is the new “Self-Titled” LP from LA ARMADA. This album is about 10 years in the making and it rips so hard. I’ve known these guys since high school when we used to play shows together in the Dominican Republic. They are one of the very few who have made the jump from the small Caribbean island to live and tour in the US. Their dedication to their music definitely shows in this album and their live show. If you have a chance to see them live I would not miss it. They’ll blow you away.

LA ARMADA will celebrate the release of their new LP this Friday night at The Orphanage in Chicago, IL. The show is only $5 and we will have copies of the new album for sale. Also playing are Krang, Die Time, and Time Loses Control with DJ Masisi in between sets.

Pre-orders for the new LA ARMADA LP are up! We can’t wait for this record to be out and in our hands. The songs kick ass and I think a lot of people are going to be blow away by this band. Last week the band posted the song “Negaciones” from the album and today they’ve posted another one called “Complice”. You can listen to both songs here.

Tests came in this week for the upcoming self-titled LP from LA ARMADA. I can’t wait for people to hear this record. The guys put everything they have into their songs/band and it definitely shows. The record will be out sometime in mid-late March right before the band heads out on a month long tour. We’ll have some tracks for you to hear soon. Hello everyone! I just wanted to make a quick post and say thank you for helping make 2011 such an awesome year for Fat Sandwich. We had the privilege to work with a ton of rad people and put out some great records. The year ended on a very high note and we are looking forward to what’s to come before the world ends in December. We can’t thank you enough for continuing to support us by buying records, shirts, coming to shows, etc.

Our first release of the new year (The Fourth Estate 7″) will be out in a couple of weeks. Expect more news about that and other releases very soon. Laterz.

New Release: The Fourth Estate 7″

We are pleased to announce that we will be releasing a 7″ for Birmingham, AL’s THE FOURTH ESTATE. They are a relatively new band featuring members of Dolarhyde, who we did a 7″ for last year. The self-titled four song EP is currently available on CD from Spring Street Records in Birmingham. We are hoping to have test presses in this week and once those are approved it shouldn’t be long before the record is available. You can listen to all four songs from the 7″ on THE FOURTH ESTATE bandcamp or the Fat Sandwich bandcamp.
